Techstars Community Partnerships Are Not Accelerators

Techstars is rolling out “community partnerships.”

Sounds collaborative, right?

In reality, it’s a structure that lets them distance HQ from accountability.

If a local MD ghosts a founder, revokes an offer, or retaliates against dissent, Techstars can say:

“That wasn’t us — it was the community partner.”

This isn’t about community.

It’s about building deniability into the org chart.

This includes Natty Zola and Nicole Glaros "new" Techstars Boulder program.

If my comment on Brad Feld’s blog — which asks about a Techstars offer being revoked after a founder raised concerns — gets deleted, just know:

They aren’t protecting values.

They’re protecting themselves.
